Accountability in Government
A SANGGU NEAR US: The Sanggunian, most amplified through the Central Assembly (CA), has to become more accessible and relevant to the student body through more transparent and grassroots processes.
- Proactive efforts for informed policy-making in the Central Assembly:
- Have multiple sessions in collaboration with students at the beginning of the school year to discuss student interests and concerns for the upcoming school year in collaboration with OADSA’s The Ateneo College Student Survey 6 (TACSS 6).
- Students, aside from CA representatives, can petition to be given the chance to address CA, pending prior notice of agenda and approval of the VP.
- Improved transparency, collaboration, and education initiatives for the whole Sanggunian, with emphasis on the Central Assembly
- Creation of the Sanggunian Legal and Legislative Service (SLLS) > To be the primary legal office of the Sanggunian headed by a Solicitor-General, in charge of coordinating with the Ateneo Student Judicial Court (ASJC) on all related affairs. It will also be tasked with educating the studentry with the CA and partnering with SJC on projects for legal education.
- Forming lines of communication from the Central Assembly to student publications through means of voluntary partnerships – allowing them access to all Sangguinan activities and engagements.
- Sanggu Gazette Full Implementation – a monthly newsletter about all of the Sanggunian’s initiatives and actions, expanding its reach from the Sanggu website to more reachable social media platforms.
A SANGGU WITH US: We all deserve a Sanggu that supports us in our college journey, and this can be achieved by creating an organization of student leaders who are well-equipped to guide others in organization processes.
